The second phase | Samavasaran and other structures |

The second phase

Building to be built in second phaseFirst phase of Mangalayatan's development has been successfully completed within the stipulated timeframe of 2 years, in December 2002. Second phase of the complex's development is already going on in full swing since January 2003. While temples and basic facilities were the focus of the first phase, the second phase would see an expansion of Mangalayatan's socio-religious and socio-educational projects. During this phase, only a couple of religious structures would be constructed and more importance would be given to the development of facilities and infrastructure meant to service the devotees and the people living in the vicinity of Mangalayatan.

Buildings related with educational, academic, research, health and  preservation works would be developed during this phase, which should complete by the end of 2004. The religious structures to be built during this phase include a Samavasaran and/or an audio visual centre depicting Acharya Kund Kundacharya's life and teachings. Development of the second phase would cost an estimated amount of Rs. 3 Crore. Planning, development and construction work for this phase has been meticulously planned according to the details provided in dharma granthas and after consultation with Vastu experts. All the structures are to be earthquake-resistant.

Samavasaran and other structures

Proposed samavasaran A grand Samavasaran (religious mandap/ court) depicting Bhagwan Seemandharnath sitting in the Videha Kshetra will be constructed on a place already earmarked on the basis of religious standards and Vastu. It is going to be a fascinating complex which would house chaturmukhi (four headed) Jinbimb (statue) of Bhagwan Seemandharnath, surrounded by a beautiful Manstambh built by Indra. Acharya Kund Kund would be depicted listening to the devine teachings of Bhagwan Seemandharnath while Ganadhar Bhagwan, Acharyas, Munirajas, Aryika Maatas, Shravak-Shravikas, Indras, Devas, Kings and Pujya Gurudevshri Kanji Swami would be shown attending the grand assembly.

A spacious research institute, named Acharya Kundkund Shodh Sansthan, is being developed to facilitate research work on ancient and rare Jain scriptures and for their preservation. This complex is going to be a major and unique centre of Jain studies in the world. All available Jain literature, ancient manuscripts, audio-visual material, cassettes and CDs of Gurudevshri's and Behenshri's discourses will be a part of the research institute. Publication of books and magazines will also be undertaken for the sacred purpose of spreading the Jinvani and the sayings of Tirthankaras. Presently, these activities are being run from an alternative location in the complex.

A huge preaching hall with ultra-modern public address system and other equipment is also under construction. This will be one of the major centres of activities in 'Mangalayatan' complex.

Guest House/ Dining Hall will be built to provide facility of boarding/lodging and food to devotees coming to Mangalayatan.

Residential Colony and Bank

A community residential colony named Kahan Nagar is also being built in the vicinity of Mangalayatan to benefit people who want to settle in this holy area. The colony would have limited number of houses/flats providing all facilities for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Flats would also be built for Jain scholars who want to settle in this area or to temporarily stay here. The project is being developed on a No-profit-no-loss basis.

Shri Adinath Kund-kund Kahan Digamber Jain Trust is also planning to launch a Jain Cooperative Bank for the benefit of the community. Though establishment of private banks is now allowed in the country but no one has taken initiative to launch a Jain Banks in this part of the country. According to the initial planning, the bank would have 18 directors and at least 2000 members.

Apart from normal banking operations, the proposed bank might also provide loans for construction of houses and flats in the proposed Jain colony around Mangalayatan. It would also provide education loans to Jain students for further education, in India as well as abroad. If everything goes according to the plans, the bank should be operational by the time the second phase development work of the Mangalayatan complex is complete.
